Custom development means a specific change or new capability on a live site. Most commonly:

How an improvement is estimated
We do not quote from a single sentence in a chat. First we look at the site: what it is built on, how the code is organised, what is already connected. The same task costs differently on a tidy project than on a site five different contractors have touched - and it is fairer to say so before starting than after.
Then we break the task into understandable parts and estimate each. If it is large, we suggest doing it in stages: first the part that delivers a result immediately, then the rest. That way you see progress and can stop at any point, instead of paying for everything up front and blind.
How we avoid breaking a live site
The main risk of any improvement is breaking what already worked. So changes never go straight to the live site: a copy first, then checks, then publication. Everything we change is in version control, so a rollback takes minutes rather than a restore from yesterday's backup with lost enquiries.
After publishing we check not only the new feature but the neighbouring ones - forms, payment, catalog - the things edits most often disturb. It takes little time and removes most of the unpleasant surprises.

Before estimating, we review the code and stack to give a realistic timeline and price. For larger tasks the quote is fixed upfront.
How we work
You describe the task, we clarify details and give an estimate. All changes are documented and we do not break what is already working: we make changes carefully, with a backup and a review pass. You communicate directly with the engineer - no middlemen. We take on both our own sites and projects built by others, after a short code audit.

What kinds of development tasks do you take on?

Small and medium tasks are billed hourly at 25 EUR/hour. For larger pieces of work we fix a quote per task after a brief, so the final cost is clear upfront. Before estimating, we review the site code and stack.
Do I need a retainer to order development work?
No. You can order development as a one-off task, without an ongoing support contract. If tasks come up regularly, a retainer is more cost-effective - minor fixes are included in the monthly fee so you do not track every hour separately.
How long does development take?
It depends on scope: a minor fix takes a few hours, a new page or form takes one to two days, a larger section or feature takes a week or more. Timeline and quote are fixed after a brief, before work starts.
Can you work on someone else's codebase?
Yes. Before starting we run a short audit: we review the stack, code quality, and access credentials. If the code is in reasonable shape we work directly on it. If the platform is beyond help and every fix costs more than a rebuild, we will say so honestly.
